About
We fix the boring parts of running a business.
No account managers, no handoffs, no thirty-page proposal. The person who scopes your work is the person who builds it.
Why we exist
Busy businesses lose work in the gaps between their systems. A quote that takes four days because it’s built by hand at 9pm. A follow-up nobody remembers. The same job typed into three different places because none of them talk to each other.
Almost nobody is fixing that end of it. There are plenty of people who’ll get you more enquiries, and plenty who’ll look after your laptops. The bit in between — what actually happens between an enquiry arriving and the money landing — is where the money quietly goes, and it’s the only thing we work on.
How we work
These are the parts worth judging us on. Everything else is adjectives.
A free call first, always. Half an hour, no charge, no pitch. If we can’t help, you’ll hear that on the call rather than in a proposal three weeks later.
We look before we quote anything substantial. For a small, clear job we’ll just price it. For anything bigger we’d rather map your systems properly first — a number pulled out of the air before we’ve seen how you actually work is no use to either of us.
Fixed scope, written down. You’ll know what’s included and what isn’t before anyone starts, with a set number of revision rounds. If you want something added later we’ll price it and tell you what it does to the timeline, rather than quietly absorbing it and resenting it.
A person checks anything a machine wrote before it reaches your customer. We build it that way on purpose and we won’t build it any other way. It’s thirty seconds of checking, and it’s the reason this is safe to run.
Senior work only, no handoffs. Nobody junior learns on your project, and nothing gets lost between the person who sold it and the person who built it.
No lock-in. The monthly plan is monthly. If it stops being worth it, stop paying for it.
We’ll tell you when it’s not us. Plenty of businesses that ring would be better off spending two hundred dollars on a booking app. We’d rather say that than sell them a build they don’t need.
When you’ll hear from us
Same evening on weekdays. Within the day at weekends.
That’s the standard we hold, and it suits the people we work with — most owners think about this properly in the evening, after the day’s work is done. If you need someone on site inside two hours when a laptop dies, that’s a different kind of company and we’ll point you at a good one.
Where we are
Auckland, New Zealand. Close enough to come and stand in your workshop, warehouse or office and watch how the work actually moves, which is usually worth more than an hour on a video call.
The work itself is remote-capable, so a client in Hamilton or Tauranga is no problem — and tour operators, in particular, are rarely in Auckland.
What we don’t do
Published on purpose. A boundary in writing is much easier to hold than one you have to explain on every call.
- Marketing, advertising, SEO or social media. Every site we build ships search-ready, which is build quality. Getting people to look is a different job.
- IT support, email security, backups or Microsoft 365 setup. We’ll configure the access our own work needs. Anything broader belongs with an IT company.
- Networks, wiring, firewalls or server rooms.
- Chatbots with no process behind them. They get switched off within a month and we’d rather not build you one.
- Enterprise projects with procurement panels and security certifications. We don’t hold those certifications and won’t claim to.

No charge and no pitch. If we’re not the right people for the problem, we’ll tell you and point you somewhere better.
Free · no pitch
You tell us what’s slow or manual. We ask the questions we’d ask any new client. By the end you’ll know whether we can help, roughly what it would involve, and what it would cost.
We work evenings and weekends, so there are a limited number of slots each week. Trades tend to ring rather than book — info@nullnil.net works just as well.
